Please join us on the eve of September 17th and talk with Oregon winemakers while enjoying the art of Catherine Schaper and the music of sweet local crooners, Michelle and the Beards. Meet Matt Berson of Love & Squalor, Sara Shaw with Daedalus Cellars and Jezebel Wines, and Remy Drabkin of Remy Wines, who will be pouring her acclaimed Lagrein.
While sipping and learning about Oregon wine, you can also meet artist Catherine Schaper and see her new works. Catherine works in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, and printmaking. Her style is very classical, and she considers on-site drawing the most important part of her process. Inspired by the natural world, she enjoys working with images of landscapes and animals and generally chooses to portray a sense of feeling in her work. Both the animals and landscapes have a sense of movement and life of their own.
Michelle and The Beards will be in house to entertain us with their ditties from 7:30 onward. The band, a group of close friends, formed in early 2009 in the cozy confines of a winter living room. Their acoustic jazzy-folk tunes combine sultry lyrics with swinging melodies that hint at both old-timey jazz and contemporary folk. Complete with acoustic guitar, banjo and upright bass, their original tunes will leave you intrigued, tapping your foot with a smile on your face.
